Tax Masters and the National Guard, Reserve
While technically not a charity, Tax Masters was recently recognized for its support of Reservists and National Guard personnel. Jim Stoa and Dwight Meeker, representing ESGR’s Texas Committee of Military/Employer Outreach, presented Patrick Cox of Tax Masters with the Patriotic Employer certificate at the Tax Masters offices in Houston on March 5th, 2009. Nominated by Major Fred Hackett, General Counsel at Tax Masters and a member of the National Guard’s 36th Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade, Patrick Cox has consistently exceeded USERRA (Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act) requirements and remains committed to supporting the nation’s reservists and guards people.

ESGR Recognizes Patrick Cox and Tax Masters as a Patriotic Employer
Major Fred Hackett is scheduled to be deployed to Iraq sometime this fall and can rest easy knowing that his position, benefits, and rate of pay will not suffer during his absence. This is not Major Hackett’s first deployment. He served at Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo in 2006. As a matter fact, President of Tax Masters, Patrick Cox, traveled to Sophia Bulgaria and met Hackett, who was on scheduled R&R away from Kosovo for a few days. While meeting up this time around may be a bit more complicated, those who know Patrick Cox well know that he is likely to find a way to take Hackett to dinner sometime during the upcoming tour if it’s at all a possibility.
Tax Masters values highly the sacrifice military personnel and families are making every day. With an estimated 48 percent of the war on terror being fought by the Reserve and National Guard, we understand that one sure way we can help in that effort is to help support people like Fred Hackett, both while he is in civilian mode and during deployment.
